When Do I Need to Get My First Training Bra?

If you're a girl, training bras are something most people don't give much thought to. You know, most girls just kind of grow into them at some point and never think twice about it. But training bras can be really important for your development as an adolescent. They help with the physical changes during puberty, like breast growth and body composition. Let's dive in!

When should you get your first training bra?

Most girls need their first training bras around the age of ten or eleven. But it really varies from person to person, so don't be too worried if you're a little younger or older than that. There are no hard and fast rules here! Just pay attention to your body and see when you start growing breast tissue.

A training bra is a great option for girls who have never worn a bra, but want to ease into the experience before jumping in with both feet and buying an actual bra. They're also a better choice than wearing no bra at all because they don't offer as much coverage or support as real bras do. If you're not used to wearing anything around your chest, training bras give you a gentle introduction.

They also help ease the transition from dressing like a kid (no boobs) into dressing like an adult woman with breasts and curves! When girls find that they need training bras, it's often because their bodies are changing in other ways too. This can be a sign that they're starting to enter puberty.

What sorts of training bra are there?

There are all sorts of training bras out there, so you can pick the one that's best for you. Sports bras are probably the most popular type - they offer good support and are perfect for active girls. Our Kate Sports bra is amazing and easy to put on. We have added a link below so you can check out what an easy training bra can look like. And it doesn't really look like a sports bra, it looks more like a normal bra. But if you're not into sports, there are also plenty of other training bras you can choose from.

Training bras usually have a stretchy band that goes around your chest to hold the bra in place comfortably. Your training bra should fit well on your body - it shouldn't be at all loose or too tight! If you're not sure about how a training bra fits, ask an adult to help you out.

Changing training bras: If your training bra becomes too small for you, it's time to pick a new one! This can be hard if you're just learning about training bras because there isn't much of a size difference between them. You'll probably have an easier time picking up on when your training bra starts fitting too snugly when you move on to regular bras with cup sizes.

When training bras are no longer comfortable, it's time for a real bra! You don't have to wait until your breasts are fully developed - most girls switch to regular bras around the age of twelve or thirteen. But once again, this varies from person to person so pay attention to your body and don't be afraid to ask an adult for help.

That's all for training bras! Hopefully this article has helped answer some of the questions you may have about them. Remember, there isn't one right answer when it comes to training bras - every girl is different! So find the style that works best for you!
